Lingerie Buying 101

Here are some tips on how to buy lingerie that will flatter her figure and pick colors that she will love. Chocolate makes you fat, flowers die and great jewelry is a strain on the budget. Lingerie, on the other hand, is the gift that truly keeps on giving.

Not every woman feels comfortable with baring her bottom in a sexy thong. Put some thought into what body parts she feels most comfortable with and choose lingerie to complement.

A few ideas:

Show off nice legs in something short like a baby doll or short chemise.
Play up good cleavage with a halter or bustier style.
Display toned arms with a camisole.

Have fun

Get her in touch with her inner child by choosing fun prints like cherries or clouds. Or appeal to her wilder side: animal prints, lace or bold colors like red are perfect.

Colors

Black, red and white (or off-white) look good on almost everyone. Blondes look great in pastels, and brunettes can carry off stronger colors like purple and emerald green. Redheads do best with greens, blues and earthy tones.

Soft touch

If you like touching the garment, she’ll like wearing it. Velvet, silk and satin have lots of tactile appeal. If you’re buying online, stick with fabrics that you already know what they feel like.

Get comfy

Casual, updated intimates come in styles like tank tops, bikinis and p.j.s. Look for cotton, flannel or other naturally cozy fabrics.

Sizes

The best way to find her correct size is to ask.

Alternatives: you can snoop around the lingerie drawer to find the sizes of stuff she already owns. Or you can guess (tricky territory — Lingerie.com even promotes the amusing “fruit comparison” method for finding cup size.)

Presentation

Don’t forget to wrap the lingerie (or have it professionally wrapped) with beautiful paper and a lots of lush tissue paper. You can get creative and make bags or baskets with related items, like a book of poetry, a bottle of champagne or great-smelling body products and candle.

Key styles

Chemise - A straight gown that skims the body.
Negligee - A loose, usually sheer, gown.Peignoir set - Negligee that includes a matching sheer robe.
Babydoll - A short gown that fits around the bust, flares toward hemline.
Pajamas - Pants and top, originally styled after men’s p.j.s.
Bustier - A usually strapless elongated bra that provides extra lift to the breasts.
Camisole - A sleeveless top that can be paired with matching undies or worn under a jacket for work.
Teddy - A one-piece style, similar to a bodysuit.
Tap pants - Soft, very short version of boxing shorts.
Thong - Provides coverage in the front of the panty with a thin strap in the back.

Valentine Gifts For Your Sweetheart

That’s it, it’s marked in your calendar and this year, there’s no way you’re forgetting. Cupid has swung his bow and the arrow landed right at your bottom — you’re full-blown smitten with this woman, and you want to show her just that.

So what do you get her without having to ask your mother and sister for advice? Your woman keeps hinting that she wants a new pair of shoes, and she’s continually saying that she’s sick of her CDs and wants new ones. Are these clear hints that these are what you should be getting your Valentine this year?

Although this is an important date that signifies love and romance, there’s no need to get stressed about what to get your sweetheart. Chances are you know her well enough, and even if you don’t, there are always gifts that you just can’t go wrong with. If you’re lucky, you may even get the chance to win her a beautiful piece of jewelry that she’ll treasure forever — just read on to find out more.

So fear not — check out these gifts that are sure to make her happy, and you even happier.

The simplest gifts that you can get your girlfriend for Valentine’s Day are flowers, chocolates and teddy bears. And these are fine because it is possible to make a somewhat generic gift more personal.

This may seem like a cop-out gift, but it doesn’t have to be. Flowers can say a million words by the colored roses you choose, and the arrangements you prepare. Personally, I’d be impressed with a bouquet of a dozen red roses.

It’s important to know what each colored rose represents, so you can impress her with your knowledge and high culture by telling her what they mean — and in case you get one with the wrong message; and she does know what it means.

A woman always appreciates a box of her favorite chocolates, so if you do opt for these, get her a flavor you know she likes and would appreciate (chocolate is said to be a fine substitute for sex for some women, so you may not want to get her too many). But if they’re truffles, my personal favorite, then get them by the truckload.

If you know that she has a penchant for fine wine, then get her a bottle of her favorite stuff. From Amaretto to Zinfandel, there’s sure to be a drink she prefers — and you can’t go wrong with a bottle of french wine. You can even get drunk together (while you have beer).

A teddy bear is always a safe option, but you may want to get her this combined with chocolates or flowers, so that she gets a nice gift that she can enjoy right away, and have something to cuddle with while you’re not around.

These are more generic gifts that are perfect for newer couples, when you’re really at a loss for what to get her, or if you know she really just appreciates chocolates or flowers.

But like I said, you can make these even more special by having them delivered to her at work (and make all her co-workers jealous) or send her twelve single roses all day, until she can make a bouquet herself. For example, leave a rose on her doorstep in the morning, have others delivered to her throughout the day, give one to her personally when you see her, and finally leave one on your bed if you know you’re going back to your place after dinner, to really celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Women also love to keep their flowers as a sentimental item, so you can have a bouquet of roses delivered to her, and then give her a beautiful vase, so that she can keep her flowers for a long-time once she dries them (women know how to dry their flowers, so don’t even ask).

There is also a variety of gifts that you can get for your Valentine that prove you’ve really put some thought into getting her something special (just don’t show her that you’ve been reading this).

Other great ideas:
Lingerie
Bath kit – scented bath oils, bubbles, sponges; just think of the possibilities.
• Manicure set
Massage oils
• Gift certificate to a spa or for a massage
• Scented oil burner
• Scented body lotions
• Her favorite perfume
• Warm housecoat and slippers
• Framed work of art that symbolizes your feelings or that would look great in her bedroom.
• Pewter or glass candleholders — get her a heart-shaped candleholder or a hand blown glass candleholder that’ll look great on her night table.
• Bonsai tree — brings good luck
• Jewelry — something she’ll have forever. A great idea is to get her a charm bracelet, so that she can collect different charms throughout the years.
• An engraved key chain
• A picture frame with a picture of the two of you or a collage of your pictures.
• A coffee mug with a picture of the two of you.
• Tickets to her favorite show coming to town, or a concert she’s dying to go to.
• Cook dinner for her, buy her massage oils, candles, and oil burners, and be at her mercy all night long.

The whole point of Valentine’s Day isn’t to outdo each other with gifts, nor is it to go into a store and get a gift for the sake of giving a gift. It’s a time to show your significant other how much they mean to you, how important they are to you, and a little reminder in the middle of the year, amid the stress and routine of life, to stop and say, “I care for you deeply and want you to know this.”

So don’t get all confused about what to get her — you know what she likes, and you know what will please her. As long as it comes from the heart, you’ll be showing her that Cupid is doing his job.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Finding the right Valentine’s Day gift is probably the most difficult shopping experience in any man’s life. It isn’t like buying a birthday gift — choosing a gift for this special occasion won’t just show your affection toward her, but your degree of commitment as well.

The nature of the gift can reflect how much you care, or don’t care, about her. The meaning of your gift also varies according to the seriousness and the type of relationship you’re in. Here are a few basic gift ideas, depending on your particular relationship level.

You’ve gone out with her a few times, the level of commitment is low, and you’re simply having a lot of fun. What do you buy her? This situation is the trickiest of them all because the wrong gift can take the relationship from casual dating to a full-fledged commitment.

Buying her the usual card and flowers is acceptable for this early stage in a relationship, or when your involvement is relatively weak.

On the other hand, if the relationship is strong and its future seems bright, opt for a more original present. For example, a sexy blouse or any form of eveningwear is classy enough to show her that you put some effort into selecting her gift.

Women generally appreciate that you spent some time selecting a gift. So it’s a good idea to listen to what she says, pick up on a hint she may mention in passing, and then surprise her with it.

Every man, at one point in his life, will hook up with a woman simply for sex — and amazing sex at that. This type of relationship is particularly exciting when Valentine’s Day comes around, and selecting her gift can be amusing in itself. Choosing the right gift will hopefully guide the intensity of the evening and make it a night to remember.

Most of the time, guys will opt to buy her sexy lingerie. Purchasing lingerie is a little clich, but it’s generally well-received by women. Another fashionable gift is a sexy dress she can wear for the Valentine’s Day dinner. Keep it sexual by insisting that she leave her underwear at home.

However, instead of buying her these conventional gifts, a suggestion would be to get her a basket of sex toys. If you want to go all the way (in more ways than one), then rent a nice room and try to incorporate all these gifts into your evening.

The married man will probably run out of original gift ideas sooner or later. He doesn’t necessarily need to show commitment with his gifts, but he needs to set the mood for the upcoming passionate evening. In this situation, buy her an unconventional set of silk sheets, which can be purchased at any high-end department store. This gift will likely be expensive and surely has a sexual connotation.

The more conventional alternative for a married man is getting his wife some jewelry. This gift idea will please any woman, married or not…

Remember these are only suggestions and none of these gifts represent the perfect choice. Each man knows what his woman enjoys, so my advice is to think about what she appreciates the most and use that as a guide.

Good luck and have a great Valentine’s Day.

Sex Toy Guide - Anal Sex Toys

While there are some vibrators and dildos/dongs that are intended for anal use, this category covers all other kinds of anal toys - butt plugs and anal beads. When using any anal toy, be sure to apply plenty of lube to the toy and your anus for smooth, safe penetration.

Butt plugs tend to vary widely in length, but they’re generally wider than most other sex toys meant for anal use. Because of this feature, butt plugs are mainly the playground for experienced anal toy users instead of beginners. Butt plugs also contain a large flat base so butt plugs can be easily removed.

Anal beads are a string of several beads that can be inserted anally. These beads start off small and then grow larger, offering something for beginners and experienced sex toy users. Some of the anal beads even vibrate with movement so just walking to the water cooler can send your rear tingling.
